May 29th - Simplicity 2559 top and Tate skirt
um, yes, that is a me made cardboard wendy house behind, it kind of dominates the living room these days |
So our Jubilee weekend was cancelled due to chicken pox...we missed a village hall party and a barbeque but shhhh. don't tell Little I. She will be upset if and when she realises. She was not at all well over the weekend but is feeling better now, just itchy. The noise levels are back up to normal ,full volume so she must be feeling better!I have never seen so many spots on one little person before. I felt it would be mean to put pictures of then on here and who really wants to look ar poxy spots anyway? Thank you for all your good wishes in the comments on my last post, they are much appreciated.

May 30th - Amy Butler Anna tunic and Simplicity 2245 portfolio trousers On our way to see the Olympic Torch relay. Kids got a day off school, it was sooooo hot, We walked a long way...we got very hot and tired but we had a good view and ice creams. I like the way T is completely ignoring me, he's doing a spot of lego building on the hoof. |
I thought I would share some acceptable spots, some details of my red tunic:
|
Back buttons and tacking stitches! |
|
Pinked seams |
That's it - 31st May was a flop due to sick child and general knackeredness.
Ah yes, I have to show you the Olympic Torch ...ta-dah! What? Didn't you know it was made from a cereal packet and silver foil?? It's all down to the recession and cutbacks, you know.
Hehe! Like the torches!
ReplyDeleteI've always passed up the Anna tunic as didn't think much of it on the pattern envelope but really like yours! Must be the fabric on the pattern envelope putting me off... Really like the polka dots and buttons.
Hope the spots go away soon from the little ones.
Thank you - the Anna tunic is a really simple one to make. I think I have made enough for now though:)
DeleteLove this tunic! It's so sweet! And the buttons are beyond cute.
ReplyDeleteUgh, hope Little I is back to 100% soon! Chicken pox are not very fun! I'm glad she got them young, though. I was 9 when I had them and I still have quite a few scars (a few on my face... no fun).
Thanks I had been hoarding those buttons for over a year. Oooh chicken pox scars, little RG has one by her eyebrow already without any picking having occurred!
DeleteThe tunic is sooo beautiful on you! The colour compliments your complexion very well and yay for the polka dots and the sweet buttons!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ginger, chicken pox is no fun, I also kept a couple of scars so be careful that Little I doesn't pick on the scabs! Glad she's feeling better though. :)
Thank you Alessa, I do really like the tunic. I have cut Little I's nails nice and short to stop too much scratching as it's really hard to stop her. x
DeleteThe tunic and trousers make a perfect outfit and maybe the polka dots matched the chicken pox? I'm still in awe that you managed to do MMM and take photos even with sick kids and all!
ReplyDeleteThank you - she had no spots when I wore the tunic but must have been incubating it and infectious. The bit of MMM I couldn't keep up with was flicjr but I don't mind. x
DeleteI love those buttons! Such a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that Olympic torch. :) Just darling.
Red and white shiny buttons - how can they go wrong?? I wish I had bought more now, I bought them in a closing down sale.
DeleteWhen the children had chicken pox part of me really wanted to document all the awful spots and at the same time it felt weird to take pictures of that.
ReplyDeleteI so prefer the polka dots! I think is so cool you make your own clothes. I have one self-made tunic and I wore it in May to honour the Me-Made-May. Maybe next year I will have two pieces to wear:)
I did photograph my eldest when he had it aged 1 and I looked again at those pictures last week. He showed a fleetinginterest in it.
DeleteI am impressed with your patchwork making - I am so rubbish at that! Here's to you making another tunic though. :)
The tunic is so cute, and I especially love the button details. Perfection. Glad she´s feeling better! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you - I am enjoying wearing the tunic - a nice splash of red is cheering in the mornings! x
DeleteYay! That spotty top is bee-you-ti-ful - love it & the buttons :-)
ReplyDeleteNice styling going on with the 3/4 trousers too - rerally like the look. But woohoo for S2599 - glad to see yours too. I was nearly contemplating another, but then got overtaken by a mad Violet rush instead .....glad everyone's recovering & life hopefully will get back to normal :-)
