For Sigrid (no sewing here)

Sigrid says write a poem, so I wrote a poem.  Well, I tried.  This poetry lark isn't easy you know.
Don't extrapolate this...I won't do EVERYTHING  Sigrid says. Honest.  I am just highly suggestible.

I am from apple trees,
dappling sunlight,
long grass in summers,
weaving, twisting.
Secret paths shaded by beech,
a hidden entrance,
stealing raspberries.
Swinging on the willow branches.
Waiting to see the wizard.

That's it, I am embarrassed now so to follow family tradition I will avoid conversation and offer food: now here, have a cake.
Or even a biscuit.
It's been a long day at the end of a long week, so I am shuffling off to have a sleep.  May I suggest you go and read Sigrid's poem?

    1. Yes! I got one of those biscuit guns/cookie presses in the Lakeland sale recently as a birthday present. It takes some practice though to get the dough the right consistency for popping out. :)

  2. You did it! What you wrote is highly suggestive to my imagination and I am drooling at the sight of sweets. Is this where you are from as well? Distracting people from peering into your past by shoving treats in plain view? And where I'm from we are easily manipulated by such tactics and say, "don't mind if I do. . ."

  7. Lovely. :) Thank you for sharing, Debbie, and no need to be embarassed! I've been meaning to try, too.
Actually, maybe I should try that for my creative writing circle tomorrow, the theme of which is "legacy". Not too bad a match, is it?
