This week I have cut out and been sewing a denim skirt. Two out of three children were asleep so I thought I could get it finished, I sewed the waistband in place and trimmed the bias binding.
Maybe night time sewing after a 4.30am wake up and non stop day is not such a great idea. Too much rushing. I was just so keen to finish something and blog about it, not to mention wear it! I am off to watch Wallander instead.
Anyone else have a sewing related injury? And can you guess my pattern? I think the bias binding gives it away if you know this pattern.

Ouch indeed. My friend had a sewing injury so severe she had to have antibiotics! Her finger was infected by a needle!! I try to avoid sewing when tired but that can be a bit tricky as that is often (lol). I just find I make more mistakes. I think I know what your pattern is and I can't wait to see it finished!
ReplyDelete\ow...that sounds horrid. I have just go the hem to do!
DeleteI've done that too! and then there's blood on the fabric...fun, fun, fun. I hope you enjoyed the Wallander! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think I managed to avoid bloodstained fabric! I did enjoy the Wallander but have to confess to covering my eyes at one point. :) I am such a baby xx
DeleteOUCH!!! Hope your thumb is feeling better! Is that the Vogue Rachel Comey skirt?
ReplyDeleteOuch!! That sounds SUPER painful, yikes!
ReplyDeleteThat looks and sounds so painful! I do the same thing all the time, whenever I'm trimming something I've sewn I always end up trimming a little piece of myself too, although never usually as bad as this. Hope it's feeling better now!
ReplyDeleteOuch - hope you are recovered! I think that is the vogue skirt that seems quite popular at the moment. Thank you for the lovely comments you have left me recently. I do think I wear the tops I have made pretty regularly - MMM reinforced that really. I am currently mid way through another and and have another waiting to be worn. Look forwar to seeing your skirt...
