Delusions of majesty

Me made dress using the dirndl pattern from Built by Wendy Dresses book, Me Made crown.

I have some fit issues with the top half of this dress, my bust has shrunk a bit since I made it! Yes, I am wearing a felt crown. I recommend anyone feeling a bit Meh in your clothes, pop on a felt crown and instantly you will feel much better.

There is a reason...it's Comic Relief day and Little I's nursery are having a family party with fancy dress. She is going as a fairy. She wants me to go as a Queen.
This is my most regal dress. Sadly I have no pearls or court shoes or white gloves.

  1. love that look! think you really should wear the crown everytime you wear the dress! don't worry about shrinking boobs, better that than growing boobs making the front of the dress as tight as a drum!!!!! have a good weekend XXXXX

  2. Thanks so much for letting me know about Comic Relief Day, no wonder I dressed in a sort of odd outfit. I love the dress. Seeing all the great things you have made from Built by Wendy really makes me want to try the dress book on for size!

  6. The crown and the trim on the cardi make this very regal. (Nice shoes too) If the Queen had dresses with pockets she wouldn't need a handbag. Perhaps you could pass on this practical tip to her ;-)

  7. Thank you for all the kind comments. I do like this dress but didn't wear it all winter as I wasn't sure it would work with tights. SO thank you to MM March for making me dig it out. I think crowns should be the next big thing, royal wedding themes and all that. Parasombra, I will pass the tip on to HRH. Maybe she is more worried than me about the line of her dresses. What do you think is in her handbag anyway? Corgi treats?
